Primus is an American rock band formed in 1984 in El Sobrante, California, by bassist and vocalist Les Claypool. Known for their eclectic, experimental sound blending funk, metal, and progressive rock, the band’s classic lineup includes Claypool, guitarist Larry LaLonde, and drummer Tim Alexander. Notable albums include Sailing the Seas of Cheese (1991) and Pork Soda (1993). They also composed the theme for South Park.
