George Clinton is an American singer, songwriter, producer and bandleader best known as the creative force behind Parliament and Funkadelic. A major figure in 1970s funk, Clinton developed the distinctive P-Funk sound, combining funk with elements of soul, psychedelic rock and R&B. His best-known work includes One Nation Under a Groove, Flash Light and the solo hit Atomic Dog. Parliament-Funkadelic were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.
