Green Day's comedy movie "Nimrods" will be released this August!

The film has been in development since early last year, originally operating under the title New Years Rev. Co-produced by the band, it will follow three friends who embark on a road trip in the mistaken belief that they have secured a Green Day support slot at a New Year’s Eve show.

The events of the movie are inspired by the group’s real-life adventures on the road before their 1994 breakthrough album ‘Dookie’. Last month, it was confirmed that it had been renamed as Nimrods, in reference to Green Day’s 1997 album ‘Nimrod’.
